Strange days, indeed.
I got this rather odd (in my opinion) private message from ghporter yesterday. Apparently he didn't like my short‑lived ‘religion is for retards’ signature, which of course is fair enough, but I found several things in his reasoning pretty strange, and since I didn't see a ‘reply’ button anywhere and some aspects of it may be of interest to the general P/W Lounge readership, I'm posting my response publicly:
Not the end of the world obviously, but I'm really struggling to cough up any respect for this kind of PC lunacy.

red rocket -- I've never seen a 'reply' button on PM's that I get. Use the 'quote' button and it will allow you to reply.
First rule of disputes with mods/admins is to take it up with them. I'm sure gh would have elaborated for you, had you seriously cared about an intelligent discussion. Since you're out to blast him publicly and play 'gotcha' by trying to make his rationale appear foolish, it's obvious this thread has no place anywhere, even Feedback.
It belongs in the trash heap.

Well, I reported your sig via the "report post" button. Glenn is a mod, so simply did his job.
Why did I report it? Well, there was no need for it - your three little circles effort does the same job without bringing "retards" into it. If, of course, you're the kind of saddo who needs to display what they're against rather than what they're for.

Tolerance isn't accepting another person's views. Tolerance is how you treat those very people that you disagree with.
And by calling them retards, you are indeed practicing intolerance.
You'd think someone like yourself would want to PROMOTE tolerance instead of promoting bigotry.
What if someone put a "Homosexuals are for retards" sig up?
I am sure they would be asked to remove the sig too. And rightfully so.
