So there seems to have been something wrong with my location. Something about breaking the system. Peter sent me a very nicely worded message on 16 Nov at 8ish AM. Lovely person, Peter. Told me what was wrong and kindly asked me to change it. I did. Then I get another message from Lateralus. Here is what he wrote:

Now.
Three words in the subject line. One word in the body. Rude. Condescending. Unprofessional. Exact opposite of Peter. Not to sound like the Peter fan club, but I think I've seen two very different faces of what macnn has to offer.
Just thought I'd let you know that I feel demeaned by Lateralus and uplifted by Peter.
But even more than that, however. I get what is tantamount an avalanche of private messages from administrators telling me what I am doing wrong. Do they check with each other before sending these out? Cause, ya know, I never get told when I do something right. Only when I do something "wrong". Like having an animated signature, which I never knew was wrong until i got an "official warning". Is this really necessary?

I'll post what I sent you by PM earlier;

Do you want to be here?
And, no, you didn't exactly play as nicely as you claim after Peter asked you to change your location. You conveniently forgot to put spaces between the words in the Location field, throwing off page margins. Get your story right if you're gonna bother making an argument out of this.
That said, this isn't up for debate.
If you don't want to be here... leave. The rebel act isn't gonna fly. Especially from somebody who has been a member for all of three months.

I see no reason why we can't discuss this if a member is offended by the way we've acted.

I didn't check, saw location and PM'd you -- I dont think theres anything too wrong with having multiple messages about locations/sigs -- shows we're on the ball (of being watchful) I think its too much manual work to keep everyone informed as to when we contact everyone else ... ?
You get warnings if you ignore repeated PMs/emails about stuff. I think thats fair.

Some things they do, while most things they don't. I think there needs to be more mod to mod conversation going. For example I don't think any one mod should be able to ban someone. That there has to be say, a vote on it. This would stop a lot of bans that were done recently that were highly questionable. And in the end, it would make them more legit.
Not only that, maybe have a thread where a mod puts down what he or she (why aren't there any girl mods? SEXISTS!!11) gave someone a negative browny point for doing bad things.
That would settle down on the redundancy.
I remember a few years ago being scolded for doing something by a mod. And I said I wouldn't do it again etc. Everything was fine, then the next day another mod banned me for it not knowing of said conversation that had taken place between me and another mod.
So there seems to a communication problem.
Maybe we could get some flow charts and develop a synergy of MacNN moderator guidelines.

Tomorrow on "Let's Gripe About the Mods": People are upset that the mods take too long to get things done!

Peter... Do not contradict the actions of another member of the staff publicly. You have been reminded of this little rule before.
If I've locked a thread in the Feedback forum, it needs to remain locked. If you think it needs to be reopened, you need to ask me.

Huh. I wasn't expecting this complaint. That we aren't secretly talking enough about regular members.
