What's "child forums"? Is this the forum otherwise known as the "Lounge"?

It means subforums, like the Political Lounge is a child forum of the Lounge.

We have not bothered with fixing or altering every single word that came with vBulletin. The term "child forum" is indeed the same thing as a subforum. Technically, it is correct, and I really think that anyone would have to work very hard at it to take offense at a database term.

On the search form, where you can select which forums you want to search, it includes a checkbox as pictured above so that you can choose a forum and have its subforums included in the results.

Child forums are those we have set aside as safe for children. They are limited to PG-13 material.
