I have realized in making a forum for a group I am involved in that there seems to be a way MacNN does things that I think is the right way, and I see other places do or allow such silly things. Overly messy, and complicated and noisy.

Heh, I dunno that prolly made no sense. I am just rambling, but I love the MacNN forums, and the way they work. You guys take it seriously, and it makes a great thing.

While we thank you, it looks funny if a staff member replies.

Guys, please keep the bad karma out of this thread.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

Timezone settings are a part of each user's profile, but I think the default is GMT -0400, like Turtle said.

So, I think you owe OwlBoy an apology Dakar. You should also apologize to me for making me write this, plus you've been mean to me in the past. I'm sure Turtle could stand an apology too.

I'd like to thank the vast majority of our users for sharing their ideas and thoughts here-that's the real meat of what we are, and why so many people think we're not just different but "exceptional."

I also like to think that one of our "exceptional" qualities is that we have a particular "look and feel" that is smooth and polished, yet easy to use and comfortable. Like the fact that we don't have every post cluttered with half a page of idiocy other forums laughingly call "signatures," and that we don't have avatars that wink at you, cause convulsions or otherwise distract. I participate in other forums where both are active and as awful as you can imagine in your worst imaginings. In other words, "we're much better looking than the rest."

I like avatars that wink at me though, they are very affectionate...
