Hi All,

Perhaps that was an extreme title, but I'm having severe trouble with my forum searches. I've searched for simple terms as well as complex terms, and forum searches return very little, and in many cases, nothing. I've looked over the FAQ and I've seen nothing helpful. There is a note about needing to have permissions to search certain forums, but I fail to believe I can't search *any* forums. Please advise.

Best regards

It appears that the issue is a matter of being signed in. I'm not sure if my cookie(s) expired or what happened (browser was not reset). In any event, once I re-signed in, most of the searches worked. I suppose that for the remainder, no forums existed.

Still, this is contrary to the functionality of many other forums. Not that it's saying much, but of all the forums of which I'm a member, none require me to be registered/signed in to search. It would be nice if there were a *PROMINENT* message indicating the need to sign in just to search.

Thanks all.

Even if it DID work, you wouldn't like the MacNN search function, it just plainly vacuums.

Using Google with "site:forums.macnn.com search terms" works better.

Excellent. That works pretty well. Not nearly as "pretty" as forum-formatted links, but effective nonetheless. Much thanks!
