Oooh. I have new stars too.
They don't convey my meanness though.

New stars for me too.
Or at least I didn't notice if they changed before y'all's (yow, I've been in Texas too long) changed.
edit: Oh, I just passed 10k posts; that would explain it.

Sweet. I like it too.
Where do I find the thresholds for star labels again?

Those were posted in the beta forum. But I had to fiddle the top two a bit.
The random stars were originally created for Cipher13 when he hit 10K. Then that script was lost in a board upgrade. So I wrote a new one from scratch. Yesterday, "Clinically Insane" was at 15K with the angle-stars.
Trouble is, Cipher has been slacking on the posting - he's only got 11K and change. So I reset Clinically Insane to 11K posts, and dropped Posting Junkie from 10K to 8K. Those thresholds may get fiddled back up to where they were, if Cipher will get on the ball.

Ah, that explains. I was wondering why I got the same stars as other that had already hit 15k.
But couldn't you give Cipher13 custom colored stars, and stick to the old ranges ?

That's a sensible answer, but it will cost you your random stars. Well, for a few more weeks anyway.
If the random-stars are reset to 15K, only besson3c will show them today. Four other people are high enough, but two are on staff and two are banned.

To be honest, loosing them wouldn't be fun, but I think we should keep 15k as random stars for Clinically Insane level.
You could, however, merge my what_the_heck account (banninated under the unwritten "no 2 accounts rule") with my turtle777 account, then I'd be past 15k.
( Yeah, I know, in my dreams )

These are the users who could be affected if the Insane threshold went up.
16,525 - besson3c (safe)
14,496 - Millennium (inactive)
14,013 - turtle777
13,620 - SimeyTheLimey
12,908 - voodoo
12,220 - olePigeon
12,141 - starman
11,534 - mitchell_pgh
11,352 - Cipher13
11,136 - Eug
Posting Junkie is back to 10K, I wasn't happy with the lower level anyway. But I'd like to hear from the other 6 active people on the list before taking the new toy away.

To be honest, I don't think this should be a matter of what the individuals want.
You mods and admins need to decide what's best, and then just do it.
Blame the temporary change on the hampstor and delete this thread, so all traces are gone
