I used to be Tiresias. I have totally forgotten my password and the e-mail address for that account is one I no longer have access to.

That depends. If you have been using the same ISP, and they didn't change the IP, then yes. THAT would help your case tremendously.

I PMed ghporter.
Oreo, no can do. During exams, I changed all my old passwords (e-mail, MacNN) to 15-digit numbers I thereafter blissfully and willingly forgot in order to eliminate Interweb distractions. I already retrieved this lame username through my main e-mail account via the method you suggest, but Tiresias and I, Tiresias were, alas, registered using other, now inaccessible, e-mail accounts.

I wasn't perma-banned. Notched up a few infractions though; largely for petty squabbles with Kevin. Ah, good times.
