Everytime one thing gets fixed, another issue pops up.

It's like trying to ban Rob

I don't have a good answer to this one handy yet.

The Quote HTML can be adjusted to add a horizontal scroll bar, like the
code tag. The downside is that first, they might not put the link in a Quote.
Secondly, the Quote tag would no longer wrap any lines.

Fixing the problem right will require some server-side or javascript code
hacks to force-break a longlink's visible text. That may get looked into. On
the other hand, we could solve it by yelling at everyone who posts
superlong URLs.

hmm ... you know, the last solution might be more fun.

? Maybe I am thinking of another forum, but didn't the forum used to automatically change it to something like:

http://www.supercalifragili...docious.html

EDIT:

Oops. It's not his link that's the problem, it's his title. His title is his link several times over, with some errors in it. The actual link isn't very long.

Well, it wasn't my post. It was somebody else's post in a thread of mine, and it totally borked the entire page. Anyways, I asked the n00b to change it but he hasn't yet.

However, if it was an easy fix, that'd be awesome. If not then we'll just yell at teh n00bs.

Check out the 2nd one, the board did in fact shorten it.

I didn't find a board control or hack for shortening link display titles, but
there is a 50-character longword limit before it force-breaks. It appears
this limit does get applied to links, but the broken link in the first post is
fooling the clipping code.

So I guess ... Wish Granted.*

Yes, I know. I was posting that as an illustration that it was working properly.

I see.

Now if I could only get that guy to change his post...

P.S. Whitesmoke is cool.

The links look fine when the browser is at 100%, on a widescreen monitor.
