There must be some trick that the thread whores know that I don't when replying to multiple postings in one post, but quoting several people. I always have to use a text editor and then paste into my browser when I have to quote a few people.
Is there a trick? Easier way?

That little "+" next to the "quote" button... click that in each post you want to quote, then when you have all the posts you want quoted selected, click on the "quote" button in one of them.
I just don't yet quite know what order to expect those previous posts to show up in. Other than that, this is really simple.

The + button does work, but I always just middle-click the "quote" button to open them all in tabs and then copy and paste as desired.

Did they ever fix that bug where the "+" button would never get un-highlighted, even after you'd already made the post?

it's a very handy feature in deed.
edit:
Apparently, using the spoiler tag in a multi quoted reply is buggy

Same here. Seems easiest to me. I somehow always ended up screwing up the plus thing.

It is nice knowing that others had 'issues' with multiple quoting.
