I, personally, do not post that often on the fora. Therefore, I like to know which threads I've posted to to see if anyone has replied, rebuked, or argued my comments.

How about a star next to any thread one has posted to? Or some sort of visual indicator? Yes, I know this wouldn't work for people like ca$h and PBDude, but it would still be helpful for us low-poster folks.

How about it, huh? Does UBB support it? Maybe you could toggle it on or off, or it turns off automatically when one makes, say, over 8 posts a day.

In your profile, I believe since I have never used it, there is an option to receive an e-mail when someone posts to your thread. Go check.

Oh no, no, no, that's not what I meant. I don't want to know who posts to my thread, but rather who posted to a thread after I made a comment to someone else's thread, or who quoted my comment. That way, I can rebuke, argue, support, or defend my point.
Besides, I like to know what people think of my comments!

This is has been brought up quite a few times before; once someone even presented a UBB hack to do it.
However, the admins seem to have no interest

This feature is already implemented, but UBB is just very damn buggy. If I get online from the computer next to me, which I never use for MacNN Forums (or very rarely), then the file icon that normally signifies a thread has an arrow badge, signifying that a new comment has been posted to this thread since my last visit to the forum - Its not exactly what you're after, but does its job, and then some... I'm sure you'll be able to recognise the ones you've posted to.

But, it doesn't work on this comp - whether its my cookies or proxy or what, I don't know, but it just doesn't

Aha! so it can be done! I'll see if I can find out how...but I probably won't find much, seeing that this has been discussed so often. Thanks everyone for your help.

this is a feature of vBulletin (php/MySQL based BB, very similar to UBB), which MacNN did not have any luck with... although, since the forums are on a new box, I bet it would be better now...
