This "partnership" is nothing but a means to rack up ad revenue. Look at the new design. It's all ads.
Lame.
I do like that the forums button is more prominent at top, and the white layout is somewhat clean.
Too bad this is part of an overall death of MacNN.

Agreed, the whole thing bums me out. I also find the new design harder to follow than the old. I liked the stories in the center with the dark blue on sides, simple kinda old school design, but very easy to read.

Last night they switched the design and had an article about it. When I last looked there were almost 40 comments on the design, most of them negative. There was a lot of constructive criticism in these comments, and a lot of sniping, too. Now, this morning, the article is gone from the front page? What gives, MacNN, couldn't take the criticism? Put the article back! Let everyone read the comments.
This is so lame.

One rule that the Navy has taught me is this: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. MacNN tried to fix something that was great. Now I ask, WHY?

I have to agree with everyone else - going from one of the cleanest, most easily readible layouts of _any_ site to this is a big leap backwards. If this is the benefit of merging with another news player then it was a big mistake guys - if it doesnt improve, im off to another Mac news site for good.

Way to blow it guys! This new "partnership" (sellout?) has given you a significantly worse layout and -- far more importantly -- completely hobbled the timeliness of your reporting. As I write this it's 10:25 ET Tuesday and there's still *no* Tuesday news posted at MacNN but already twelve articles at Mac Central.
I'll be moving to MacCentral and waxing nostalgic for the days when Mac news happened first at MacNN....I'm sorry for whatever happened that forced you to do this to yourselves.

We all have to admit that the old design was kind of simple and frankly, awful compared to what is being done these days. But still, very useful, easy to read and straight forward. Now, this new look adopted from the new owner just doesn't fit. Like trying to put on clothes from someone else without checking size first. Well, one size doesn't fit all! As a web designer myself, I know that in just a few days, you can kill something interesting with a bad design. The worst has happen: bad design will bring death to something that use to be applauded. Then even worst, the news feeding gets slugish. This is the end. Getting back from this would need a HUGE effort, wich they were not willing to do in the first place.
