Here is the problem and it needs a solution...fast:
I have made a PowerPoint presentation with music on my PC for a school project. Now, I have PowerPoint 2000, but my teacher uses PowerPoint 97 on her iMac. To see if anything got lost while converting my 2000 file to 97, I downloaded a PowerPoint 97 Viewer. Well, everything worked out fine without any missing much. So I took it to my teacher and she put the CD in and loaded my presentation. The result? Only one music file played. The funny thing is that it was a .WAV file but I had other .WAV files on the presentation along with .MP3 files. My question is:

Why did only one music file play and not the others? And what can I do to fix this problem. Please, I need all the help on this matter since my project is due tomorrow

Hope you get this in time.

I've dealt with this before. I suggest putting ALL sound files in the a folder with the presentation and linking all sounds with 'relative links.' Then when you burn it to a CD put it in the root directory of the CD with all files (basically a flat file).

If you want the presentation to sort to the top, put an 'A' or '1' in the filename. Hopefully this will work for you. I've had difficulties with embedded sounds in Powerpoint going across platforms. Its really a limitation of how Powerpoint handles the inserted media differently and the difference in how each platform handles filesystem structures. (In windows often the CD-ROM drive has a different letter on different machines and caused difficulties for my particular project).

As for your teacher using Powerpoint 97 on her mac-not possible. It may be Powerpoint98 that is a compatible file format to 2000 on the PC (in fact I believe it is *the* compatible format across these platforms).

Good luck!
