...rather than just locking them, with no reply, could you post a link to wherever you move them?

I'm not sure who it is cause they're not posting... and its sorta annoying when its been locked and its not said where its been moved to, if its been moved. There are a few examples of this.

And if they weren't moved, then an explanation for locking them is still necessary...

TIA

I've reviewed the past two days in Power Mac; each of the threads have been transferred not closed, even though the little lock icon appears and it is stated "Topic Closed". (I hate that feature BTW.) In transferred threads posters may always find the "This topic has been transferred to this forum: [blah]" link directly below the MacNN logo at top left.

It's an unwritten forum policy that mods and admins state why threads are transferred and/or closed. As regulars know, that is my personal MO as co-Power Mac mod. A lack of "courtesy explanations" over the last two days is my bad in all but one instance of transfer. A combination of waaaaaaay too many hours spent at MWNY and not enough in my bed , slow or near inaccessible forums, and more than usual poor judgment in member postings lately (iMac speculation and LCD panel discussions in Power Mac? And not all by newbies either! C'mon.) are the culprits. It was better to quickly transfer misplaced threads out this week than leave the forum a mess, which IMO is the larger aggrevation.

Once Macworld is over and I return from holiday late next week - with the help of members posting topics to the relevant forum, please - things should be back to norm. Thanks all.

Its cool, thanks for the response.

Even after over a year here, I forget to look at the top left where it says "transferred" or whatever. I think posts are necessary, but thats just my opinion.

Totally understandable on your part - the forums have been a horrible mess lately. Happens every Macworld. God I hate those expo's
