Now that X is shipping as default mac os it must be time to drop the OS X reference in fora so

the forum now called MacOS would be come

Classic MacOS (MacOS 9.2.2 and earlier)

the forum called MacOS X General would become

MacOS (MacOS X)

etc.

The problem is Mac OS and Mac OS X are still distinctly different.

I don't think it's that confusing... heheh. Plus, I think there are a lot of people that haven't gotten their hands wet in X yet... So I think until MacOS 9 is WAY extinct, we should leave the forums labeled as they are Good idea, though.

Thanks for the replies. I don't disagree that they are very different OS's and should be kept distinct. I just think that MacOS with out
a qualifier means Mac OS X. If you buy a Mac and turn it on now you
see that Mac OS which is Mac OS X.

So Mac OS should mean Mac OS X and the one that needs
qualifying is `old' Mac OS , Classic Mac OS, Mac OS x for
x less than 9.2.2 etc
