if it ever becomes needed...

How about a "ZERO TOLERANCE" Rule...

A list of "Forbidden Words" will be posted under the user agreement and posted also at a link at the top of every forum page...

And ANY violation of the user agreement shall institute a immediate cancelation of there registration...

surely this can be a easy law to abide by...

I would recommend a list of "altered forbidden words" be posted one last time and voted on by senieor members and administrators of acceptable words...

I know I would have no problem abiding by this law...

However the agreement of two administrotors would be needed to initiate a cancelation of a users membership to the forum... to prevent misuse/abuse of power... which I have found in the few months of experience within this forum to be present in even the administrators...

this should stop some of the unpleasurable members from disturbing the peice, also ("If need present itself") a membership to this or every forum must be "Approved" by the administrators and emails names like "????@mac.com, ????@yahoo.com, ????@hotmail.com and other easily obtainable free emails will be declined due to there possible misuse and every new user will be held under a temporary probationary period in which the membership can be terminated by one administrator...

All present Users are also to abide by the "ZERO TOLERANCE" rules effective immediately...

sounds like a good idea to me...

just a suggestion...

No need to reply...

This being the internet, poor grammar and incorrectly spelled words are a fact of life. Even when we had a spelling check function on the posting window, many people did not bother to use it.

Zero tolerance has caused some odd problems in schools, with stories that would be funny if they were not so serious. If applied here, particular misspelled words would get users banned. So we should have an exception for unintentional misspellings. But what if similiar words were intentionally misspelled, to get around the zero tolerance rule? That would call for a judgement call.

If you are going to trust the staff for judgement calls anyway, the suggestion here seems redundant. I have had no issues with the Admin or Mod staff.

OK, I concede...

My idea was an overt reaction to the problem of misuse... as I have posted in a responce to a different thread in the lounge...

However my experience with zero tolerance leaves me with no doubt of its effectiveness...

still I concede...
