In order to optimize the layout of the forum page and cut down on redundancy, I believe it's time to consolidate Classic oriented forums. For instance, I would at the very least merge "Third Party Software" and "Internet Software" into "Classic Third Party Software."

However, since there's so little activity overall in the forums dealing with the classic Mac OS, perhaps they should all be merged into a "Classic Mac OS and Software Discussion" forum. Additionally, "Mac Games" and "Linux on Mac" should be moved to the "Other Topics" category. Just seems logical to me; after all, OS 9 is allegedly dead...

I agree. Posting to the "internet" forum is pointless. The only way to get activity in it is to combine it with third party software, with tcp/ip comms problems or questions in the macos thread.

I disagree with the other changes, as, ater all, it is the "software" area.

We're pretty likely going to be upgrading the UBB this weekend, and we're going to consolidate those forums after that. We still need to talk about it, but what will likely happen is that Classic Mac OS/Third Party Software/Internet Software will be merged into one Classic Mac OS & Apps forum, Mac Games will be left as-is for now (since it has a nice thing going), Linux on Mac will be killed off, and MS Office will be killed off.

This is just a preliminary thought on my part, but at least a few mods already seem to be voting in this direction.

In any case -- upgrades first, then forum consolidation. All coming soon.
