I've been looking at this carefully for a few days, especially in reading comments in the lounge, and I can see that there are a few people who seem to be picking fights and insulting the less than popular members and never get checked on it. The number of these posts are skyrocketing.

I'm not talking about Ca$h as the instigator, but rather Ca$h and others as odd victims of bullying due to "clicks" of supposed respect.

Invariably, a "despised" member will post something quite harmless, and then some members (usually the same ones) will come in and throw insults and mock the person. The despised person will make a few comments in retaliation and then get blamed for being an arrogant trouble maker. Isn't it obvious that the bullies are making it more inhospitable than the less-respected posters?

It's getting really tiring to have a thread taken over by personal insults just because these "clicks" dislike the person who starts the thread.
When you were young and your heart was an open book, you used to say "live and let live."
But if this ever changing world, in which we live in, makes you give in and cry, say "live and let die."

True, but as long as it sits in the launge, fine to a point.

The other forums are for help, and shouldn't have "personal" things going on.

This insanity brought to you by:

true, to a degree. i can regularly be seen helping people out in other fora, whenever i can, because i believe that knowledge should be shared. going to the lounge is like going to the pub: you know you're going to have to put up with some twats you don't like and you might have to slap some of them. you don't have to go there though.

i guess i didn't stick to that 999 posts thing. rats...

Oh give me break!!! Who really cares about "respected" posters. I have been a member of these boards for 2 years and change my ID regularly ( negating my post count). It's the freaking lounge fer godsake. If someone has been offending you on a regular basis, then you should have every right to bitc* about it So long as you dont post it in Mac modifications or what have you. Just jump right in or stay out of the way. Now we are pissing about the pissing. You want some cheese with that whine.

i really hate they way that every time ca$h posts anything, starwars guy has to come up with some lame dig at him. It's like he follows ca$h around. It's pretty obvious that he is jealous of ca$h's unique status/role at macnn, and that in real life, he is a complete jerk off.

No one is whining in this thread, except for the above the quote, which is mocking a valid consideration on my part. I really don't ascribe any more respect to your comment because you say you've been here for two years. Check it out: so have I. It is rather tedius to read the ongoing tactless insults in hijacked threads just to read the few worthwhile posts. Stooping to insulting banter and baiting is a lose/lose situation for everyone. There's no way to completely end the need of some individuals to posture themselves as cynical know-it-alls who'd rather insult than inform, nor do i want to censor their opinions. But the mods need to watch certain people who have a habit of entering some threads just to mock. It would make some forums, like OS X - General, easier to digest for information.

Edit: UBB in the quote was missing a bracket

And I would hope you would'nt, hence my statement about not worrying about my post count. All I am saying is "lighten up"- at least it is being kept in the lounge. And yes I am guilty myself of ca$h-baiting (as the mod put it) . Can't help it it...but i am trying...mmmmuuuussssttt reeesssiiissst.
