to be embarrassed about something like this, you'd first have to be conscious that you've done something wrong/stupid/etc. i think that rules him right out of that one. it would be a shame if, during the upgrade, his member file accidently got shredded...

i am rather amused to see anyone talking about my post history like that.
anyway, thanks for the thought guys, but we don't really need anyone making threats on our behalf. i'm in an uncharacteristically friendly mood right now. 
randomly this struck me, and i must say- phil and apu, you're remarkly well synched atm!
