Is the mail program on this fantastic pentium web server down or something, I haven't been getting emails to any of the responses to my posts. I always check the box to get them, and my email address is still right in my profile. What is going on? You don't actually expect me to REMEMBER all the posts I start do you? Anyone else notice this (server trouble) or is it just me (teamMacnn getting back at me for not joining )?

Well then how come I'm not getting ANY emails? I always check the box! I didn't get an email from your reply. My email address is correct in my profile, and my account is working, i've had other people email me with that address many times to make sure it was still working, and it is. What might be going on here? Its REALLY a pain not having responses emailed to you.

I beg to differ. The email is NOT working. I went to change my email address a couple of days ago and have NOT been email yet for my new password.

I've also tried to register with a new name twice using my two other email accounts, and still NO email. Hmm....Something is wrong.

I would like to post my iBook that I have on ebay in the Buy/Sell section, but I can't login.

Maybe the forum software doesn't like you.

I refreshed all the email settings (which *are* correct, and *were* working for a lot of people), so you can try again now.

Yes I also have yet to recieve any emails. Maybe the forums are fine but the mail sending app the forums is using is broken (which would NOT be sendmail right, becuase these forums are on winblows or something)

You know perfectly well the machines are running Linux because you were complaining about it in a massive thread a month ago. *sigh*

It's running sendmail, and I just tried the Lost Password function myself and I got an email within 5 seconds. I also tried Email Notification (see the testing thread in this forum) and that also gives me an instant response. Sendmail has been running on this box for the last two months (specifically, since October 21) without a hiccup; there's nothing "broken" about it.

If you're not able to retrieve your password through the normal means, you can contact admin@macnn.com and we'll manually lookup your password and send it to you.

Well Since i started this post, i have started two other posts, one of them got 2 responses so far, and i still have yet to receive a single email. And i haven't changed my email address. Can you think of what might be causing this, my dock is now getting kinda full with links to my threads.

--and i didn't remember what OS you guys ran, my beef was that you used pentium's no MacOS hardware.

I'll look into it with Infopop. They may know about possible causes of this issue.

From what I can tell, it doesn't send to mac.com addresses. Does everyone who has problems have a mac.com address?

I recently switched all of my forums from my regular email address to my mac.com address, and at first iw as getting emails from all. I really haven't posted at any other recently, just here. And I haven't gotten anything. When I first started posting at MacAddict forums, they would never email me either, and that was using a regular email. Thats why i stopped posting there. But I believe that whatever the problem was, got resolved, i believe i started getting mails again.

I have a theory, but I don't really know anything...

...Apple is blocking email from AI and MacNN...

Again, that's just my theory...

An interesting conspiracy theory! Anyone care to bet one year's worth of Steve Jobs' salary that it isn't true?

I hope I'm not beating a dead horse, but I still haven't gotten any replies from a post I did in "Internet Software" and I KNOW i checked the box. However, that was a week ago, and I don't want to waste forum space just posting a new topic to test my theory...

oh, i also have a mac.com address... anyway, until the next creative thing hits my brain, i'll just have to wait.

Hey guys,

The Apple-block email theory was interesting, so I checked it out and it turned out not to be the case.

Neal and I fixed the problem by using our systems' default email server. The other one was running into problems with disk space, etc.

It should work fine now.

Happy holidays.

Well it doesn't, not for me anyway. My mailaddress is in the .nl-domain, and it doesn't work. I got one reply on one of my messages in this forum, but I got no mail
