Yep it looks like even the MacNN boards aren't immune to spammers. It's funny because there was something of a "what if" discussion in the lounge about this very issue a while ago. Now it looks like it's becoming a reality. I've posted only this one link, but basically every single post by this "member" is nothing but SPAM.

Now I'm not saying people shouldn't be allowed to keep others informed of such events or opportunities, but perhaps these sort of posts need to be directed into thier own sub-section and not in every single forum on the board.

Anyway here's just one example http://forums.macnn.com/cgi-bin/ulti...5&t=003631

If anyone is successful at a search on his member number (since the search engine on MacNN was going koo-koo on me for some reason) I'm willing to bet all S. Collin's posts are of the same nature.

Anyway, lets stop the SPAMMING before it starts, Thanks.

Mike

Macnn condones spam. The announcements of updates for bulk emailers should make it obvious.

Well, that's a large issue in the eMail world. I would say 'not really,' because I get spam in my mailbox all the time. I cannot stand having to delete six spammed messages PER DAY. I never read them.

If the S. Collins thing were an announcement by a member, a real member, for informational purposes, then it might be permissable, but this guy is just posting and running.

Truly annoying, he doesn't even linger to read our scathing comments about why we don't want his posts.

Coward.

But I've seen worse things in other fora, bboards, etc, constant messages about prOn and such. I suppose this is a lesser evil.
