While there is constantly rumours and speculation about what's going to happen next in the world of Apple, it's at times like these - just prior to macworld expos for example - that we really need a forum dedicated just to this subject.
Two big benefits would be:
1) people interested in speculating wouldn't have to search the forums on each of Apples product lines and programs to find this information
2) people who read the other forums won't be subject to intense speculation overtaking those threads at these times.

For example, who knows what Apple's new breakthrough is. Nobody and so there is speculation as to whether it will be a G5 chip (see the G4 forums) a G4 in imacs and ibooks (see those forums) a new device (see peripherals), new OS X software (see all the os X forums).

Good call, I agree. Every time there is an expo or something speculation starts on most boads...I'm guilty of it asmuch, if not more than the next poster...

A sepreate forum would allow those who want to speculate, the freedom, without winding up other forum members...I can see alitlle tension creeping into some threads with another 5 days still to go...

marc

P.S how about another forum for 2 weeks after macworld to handle all the posts complaining about how bad everything was, and that were no qual processor G9s announced

As that person said earlier, http://forums.appleinsider.com/

It is on the MacN Network. Look at the top of every page. MacNN and AppleInsider serve different purposes. I find it highly unlikely that MacNN will start a different forum when there is already another board with the same purpose on its own network.

Point taken looks like I'll have to dust off my appleinsider user ID!

Personally I like the idea of a forum dedicated solely to whining about rumored and new Apple products better. At least I wouldn't have to read it anymore
