the lounge may be a catch all, anything goes type of forum, but we dont need the type of moronic threads that usually get dumped there. theyre usually so stupid they should just be locked/deleted.

mr razor in the contents of this thread suggests a "trash" forum. i think this is a fine idea. i would suggest making it a forum where you cannot start any NEW threads (lest it just turns into lounge 2), just reply to crappy junk ones that dont belong anywhere else. i dont think this is a particularly crazy idea, i would think its easily implementable, and it makes alot of sense.

But then who has the responsibility to determine what are crappy junk threads? What is one persons crappy junk might be anothers gold.

the moderators do. tell me that thread i linked is worthwhile in any way.

the mods have the right to lock threads, delete users accounts, and in my new little utopian jaunt - send them to the trash forum. i mean, its not like they automatically belong in the lounge if they dont fit anywhere else. it seems like a pretty rational solution to me.

I like the general idea of punting trash threads there (all those Star Wars ID related ones come to mind) but it will also mean a lot of extra work for mods. Also, do you do that when a once good thread goes stupid?

I think it may be hard to implement.
