Is it just me or do broken images seem to have been popping up a lot in the last week or so?

"broken images" just reminded me of this excerpt from a famous poem:

Sunlight on a broken column
There, is a tree swinging
And voices are
In the wind's singing
More distant and more solemn
Than a fading star

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I always suspect I'm all alone.

They're getting bad for me. Especially smileys - there's always a couple on almost every page. Stars are broken often, too.

What hits?

That all is weird... I know my site is down so I yanked my sig out for the moment <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Yes, I'm looking into it. Problem is not on your end. The problem is not exactly that the images are broken (404 error) but rather that all the page's images sometimes fail to load while you're loading the page. It's peculiar, certainly...

There is one very specific broken Image that can probably be fixed easily:

If you click on someone's Profile button (above any post) then you go to their profile page. On that page the stars do not appear (see here <a href="http://forums.macnn.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_profile;u=00005811)" target="_blank">http://forums.macnn.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_profile;u=00005811)</a>

The problem seems to be that the page is asking for:

<a href="http://forums.macnn.com/cgi-bin/redstar.gif" target="_blank">http://forums.macnn.com/cgi-bin/redstar.gif</a>

instead of:

<a href="http://forums.macnn.com/images/redstar.gif" target="_blank">http://forums.macnn.com/images/redstar.gif</a>
