Why can't I post comments on MacNN stories?

I am logged into the forums, this is confirmed. But every time I open the comments on a story, it won't let me post. Is there a particular IE security setting that needs to be different?

But it isn't working for me in Mozilla and IE5.2 either. I login but the comment formular don't become active.

Same problem for me with IE 5.2.1, can't post comments on articles but can log in fine through messageboard.

I have posted a number of times to the comments themselves over this issue. I log in via the forums, but am unable to post any comments -- the fields are grayed out (Mozilla) or simply do not respond to clicks or [Tab] key efforts to access them. The fact that this appears on multiple computers, and multiple browsers negates the possibility that this is an end-user cookie-related problem.
I have written to the MacNN Staff twice, with no response.
The problem presents itself in:
IE 5.x
Mozilla 1.x
OmniWeb 4.x
iCab 2.5
Opera 5
Chimera
The machines exhibiting this problem:
Xserve(1) 1GHz/10.1.5S -- via T1
PowerMac G4/867/10.1.5 -- via T1
PowerMac G4/733/10.1.5 -- via T1
PowerMac G4/733/10.1.5 -- via T1 (different machine from above)
PowerMac G4/450/10.1.5 -- via T1
PowerMac G4/400/10.1.5 -- via T1
PowerMac G3/400/10.1.5 -- via T1
iBook 600/Combo/10.1.5 -- via T1 (via static IP AirPort), DSL (via DHCP AirPort)
PowerMac G3 (G4/500) 10.1.5 -- via DSL (via DHCP AirPort)
No other machines have been tested (didn't think about PCs and other Mac servers, til now), thus far, but every single one I have tried has been unsuccesful.
The only way to post to comments has been to run Netscape 4.7x through Classic, which is less than desirable.
Perhaps an actual board post will finally bring some attention to this. I even created a new account (DVSmith) to test and see if it is somehow linked to the underscore in my name ("_") -- but even that brand new account doesn't post to the comments. (BTW, I am not the same poster as the one who started this topic -- far too many Smith's in this world.)
Sincerely,
Dan Smith

Apparently, this is a known issue, which has supposedly been fixed... apparently not very effectively...

(Oh, and editing a post with a list in it apparently breaks the list code, even if you don't touch it.)

This has not been fixed.
I have had this problem since I first tried posting a comment months ago, and I still have this problem today.
It doesn't matter if I use my Windows NT PC, my Windows XP PC, or my OS X.2 Mac (all with IE Explorer), and it doesn't matter if I'm logged in or not.
Comments will work only about 3% of the time.

Hey guys. Sorry about the comments system (it's been a lot of trouble in the past).
But please don't worry any more. We are going to be integrating the Comments into our forum, so all of the problems should be eliminated (as well as all of the useless, inappropriate posts)!
