people, people, people...

PLEASE STOP posting your questions/remarks to more than one place on this forum...

THINK, be considerate and NOT selfish and impatient.

AND, a search of the forum is always a GREAT idea BEFORE you post your question...

THANKS

it seems to me, wlohn, that everytime Apple releases a new line of iMac's, we get the same posts and questions in the iMac forum. Is there anyway to force people to search ?? guh, sorry, had to get that off my chest.

I think we should either have a FAQ section or at least make members read a message to SEARCH and ONLY POST A QUESTION ONCE before they sign up. It would have to be short so people would actually read it, but then we could say, "You dope! Didn't you read the message when you signed on?" It might help... I've thought about this one a lot too.. what a pain.

I'd be willing to work on such a beast if there was a conduit for it... perhaps a few frustrated people could be convinced to help out as well... y'know, all those guys who go "Man search the freakin' forums, we already answered this!" after a question is asked the 2nd time...

I have seriously been considering writing a CD burner FAQ and posting it at peripherals... seems at LEAST once a week someone asks what burner they should get...
Need help, count me in.

MacNN can always use help.

We'd love it if someone would take lead of various products/projects and help us get them done, but we don't want to post those projects that are in the works in an open forum like this. Too easy for the competition to beat us to it, and we do have to make a living right?

Tell you what, if you have any interest in helping out at MacNN, email us at jobs@macnn.com and let us know where your specialties/interests lie and what you'd like to help with. Also let us know how much time you'd be interested in donating.

We'll get back to you if we see an opening that you fit. And let me say it now, if you don't hear from us, it's not because we're not appreciative... it's cause we're getting swamped with replies.

Thanks - John

I would love to create a Team MacNN FAQ, but we already have a "noteworthy" FAQ page.

(I don't know how to send an email , But)count me in! I would love to be able to help out with the helping out of the helping out. by which I mean: I would assist in the compilation, writing, editing, etc. of some documents type stuff whose purpose was to streamline the help fora, thereby facilitating the communication of useful problem-solving information from those who have it to those who need it.
(I guess I better go get my email working right)

Seriously, I can help a little now, but my main assistance will be maintaining the FAQ after I graduate in May. I don't have too much free time right now.
