I would like to suggest, and I hope that everyone is in agreement with me, that wlonh deserves a raise. I say MacNN should double his current pay. Yeah, I know they don't pay the poor schmoe, and nutin' times 2 is still nuttin'. But what the hell, let's double it anyway. He does a good job! Come to think of it, he does more then any other mod here. Why isn't the dude on the books? Somebody get that man a W-4. I say hire him on full time with a big salery, full bennies, and a company car!

What are you smoking!? An M5 plus thermos costs half as much as a Z3 Roadster. Go back to BMW school!

Actually Anthony, you're completely wrong. A Z3 is a cheap (fairly) little roadster designed to compete with the porcshe boxter... its about 40k. The M5 however, is the FASTEST BEST PERFORMING sedan on the ENTIRE PLANET. EVER. Its WAAAYYYYY more expensive, I think around 80 thousand. The m5 would smack a Z3 around in every direction except MPG.

We have a policy on posts, and if you overstep the boundaries, we will delete with extreme predjudice. 98% of all readers of these fora know that wlonh is a great mod. The other 2% are so incredibly offended that there are other opinions but theirs that they must cause unspeakable problems for a volunteer. Grow up 2%!

I disagree. First off, I'm going to get the girl. Why? I'm not an ass. I just dont like Wlonh. Reasoning below.

Secondly, why in gods name can I NOT have my opinions? I happen to think that video cards in iMacs all suck. Others disagree. Is there a problem with that? Nope. See, the problem is NOT in differing opinions... the problem is some tyrannical rampant moderator who feels justified (and more important in this world because he gets a power trip) in deleting my posts specifically. I can recall about 4-5 posts of mine that were deleted for NO APPARENT REASON WHATSOEVER. No swearing, no being an ass, nothing. BUT SOMEBODY DELETED THEM! And since I know of one admin who really doesnt like me, it was really easy to figure out who. So THATS why I don't like Wlonh. He might be smart guy, and..well, he IS a smart guy, but just because he's smart and full of knowledge does NOT turn him into a nice guy. In my opinion HE is an ass.

Nobody has any problems with you dissing technology, as long as you do it with tact. As long as you do it with class, and some degree of professionalism. Infantilism is not professionalism.

As for your insistence that Lon, for my money one of the more honest men I know, is anything other than an honorable man is abhorrant to me. Have your opinion, damn it. Love it, cherish it, write it. Just be enough of a man to not post it.

Since I started this post as a way to let wlonh no how much his VOLUNTEER work on the boards is appreciated, I am a little pissed with ca$h. Yes, you are being an ass, and no you will not get the girl. If I was wlonh, I would delete every legitimate post you make, just so everyone could here you cry about it. But he doesn't becuase he does his job (unpaid I will remind you) in a profesional manner Grow up a little, and post your thoughts in a more intelligent manner.

I really don't think you are dumb, and I believe you are probably a decent guy. You just need to realize that pissing in wlonh's, or anyone else's, corn flakes is not going to get you anywhere. It just serves to annoy, and when people become annoyed, they won't take you seriously.

I know you feel cheated on your vid card. My advice, next time you buy a machine, check the specs first. See if it is upgradable. Don't blame your being a poor consumer on Apple or ATI or wlonh or anyone else. If your primary reason for buying a computer was for gaming, I think you should have checked into it a little more thoroughly. You can't upgrade it, so just go get a new machine. If you can't afford to do that, get a Dream Cast, or the Play Station2's will be out soon.

Just be a little more respectful of others ca$h. It's not hard, and you would be much better off, here and in 'real life'. No one likes a hot head, and you are a little to quick to take offense. Relax college boy. Unfurl your panties and enjoy life for what it is. It's to short to be so uptight.

Oh, and by the way, you should thank wlonh for not deleting your post.

You have on many an occasion shown puerile streaks. I'm not justifying Lon's actions - I don't have to. I trust him, he's a good man. You feel differently, and I don't know why.

And don't think that Lon is the only one who's deleted your posts. I know I have. I know I will again.

The issue for the rest of us is that when others are speaking to you, you talk about Lon. You talk about graphics card, and sota voce you speak ill of Lon at the very end. That little nugget at the end if what gets your posts deleted. We're tired of editing them, we'll just delete them.

So if you have a personal problem, come to grips with it yourself. Just don't subject us to it, and don't smear the impeccible name of an impeccible gentleman. It's insulting to us all.

Ok, enough is enough. This kind of issue has cropped up far too frequently during the last few months.

This forum is for suggestions and comments related to the forums and MacNN, not about individual forum members.

Once again, if you have an issue with a member or a post/topic being deleted, email myself or mkbhatia (both are @macnn.com) and the situation will be handle.

Any future posts of this kind will be deleted with prejudice. Period.
