Lest I bit my tongue, it seems that the DV and Mac Modification forums are doing well. Are there other forums that users would like to see? If so, please list (or support) a specific topic.

How abut a general no real topic kinda forum. An anything goes kinda thing where we can all just go and bullsh*t without bothering anyone who is looking for strict mac talk. Or maybe even make a MacNN chat room. That would benifit everyone with real time conversation, technical and otherwise.

i think Think has something there, what it is i can't say, and i hope he gets rid of it... it's starting to smell funny

but in the meantime, a no-topic forum or chat forum would be great... very good idea!

All in favor say "i".

Room of MacNNers:
disectamac: "i".....guy in the back: "i"......girl in the front "i"...moderator on the left: "i".....administrator on the right: "hmmm"........then the whole crowd stands and says "i" ....and then an applause with whistles followed by a taunting screem from the crowd......"Chat Room
!, Chat Room!, Chat Room!.

Or just an "Any Subject Forum" would be good.

Conversation with myself:
By the way doesn't Apple Insider some sort of live chat room?Yes that is correct. So you mean to tell me they have something we don't?! Yes that is also correct but fact is they seldom use their live chat room. Good, well our live chat room will be better hahahaha don't you agree? I estimate 4 to 15 people in a MacNN chat room on average at any given time, unlike the Apple Insider Room where you find yourself talking to yourself as you are now disectamac. You know this is really a pointless conversation I'm having with myself. I know exactly what you mean and we need a forumn for pointless conversation such as this one. I agree, one in a pop up window and ad links in order to make MacNN some cashola also. Ahh, disectamac, brilliant idea, you're a genious. I know, thank you but really it was Thinkinsanes' idea. oh stop being modest, you thought of the ad link thing..............

After having a conversation with myself (above) I decided to check out the live chat room at Apple Insider to see how it was doing.
To my surprise I noticed a MacNN live chat room listed their. Not to my surprise I was the only person at the Apple Insider Live Chat Room.

What's the scoop with this room? Why doesn't anyone use it? Why is it not listed as an option on the front page of MacNN? This thing has been around for as long as I can remember ai.

go to AI.....click on chat on the far top right....log in to digichat under any name....when the chat window pops up click on the "Rooms" tab on the top right...and there it is the MacNN room.

Just kidding, I'm starting to sound like i_want_an_imac_really_bad. I wonder whatever happened to him?

reply to garrettnelson,
only when I'm my right state of mind

How about a Future Hardware/Software forumn? I know it's an AI thing, that is the rumor place after all.

How about a Mac Games forum, where people can chat about games tactics and other things Mac Game related.

Maybe it'd be helpful for the admins/mods to know what the purpose of all the forums should be(they probably discuss this all in their own private forum, but lets guess for a while).. .

We've got Support/Discussion of present and past hardware and software(plus an emphasis on latest software), and then we have the other topics.

We need a delicious stew pot of Mac users of all levels of skill from all sorts of industries. People looking for support can get good help here but also nowonder.com. So there should be some special things found here not found elsewhere.

Best Ideas (so far):

1. "Noname" General Forum
2. A Gaming Forum

These I like; a lot.

How about a PC lovers forum? We can discuss how PC's & Microsoft make the world a better place to live in, and how they are incredibly superior to any and all Macs?

Oh, and I just had another brief moment of clarity and lucidity. How about a "why Dragonlance is a punk-ass-bitch" forum?

Master Obi Wlonh, feel free to use your Admin force powers to edit as you see fit.

Hey, where's my freakin' chat room???

How about a forum for left-handed Mac users. Or for dyslexic Mac Users. Seriously, how many more forums are needed? There's already a plethora of forums and sub-forums. Actually why not go the route of the NoWonder Macintosh Forum with no special Topic Heading. Just one big general forum. Where any problem pertaining to a Mac can be posted without having to determine which is the correct thread or Topic under which to post your problem. That's a very viable form. That would also relieve an adminstrator of the responsiblity of transferring postings to a forum that he/she deems more appropriate for the subject.

I strongly suggest a Newton fourm.
As you may know, Newton was a handheld Apple COMPUTER platform that died in '98.
There is still a strong Newton user base, and a fourm would be very helpful.

How about a "Mac Graphics and Web Development" forum? I think that represents a good chunk of Mac users.
and play the game existence to the end
