I think it would be cool if each person had a personal pic, like a signature but a graphic.
Like godfather's little mac or my "have a newt" pic

I think that they are cool, but personally have no idea how to do it!? I'm still a "newbie!" I enjoy all of the creations though!

The images that you see in the left on some UBB message boards are used to designate what kind of post it is (question, just a note, smilie, etc.). Users have a choice of 10 icons.

We have chosen to never activate this feature because it makes things look quite crowded and ugly. Not to mention that it's rather unnecessary.

Definitely a nice idea so long as there was(is) a threshold size like somewhere between 20 and 40K MAX - 'cos one arguement against such an idea is BIG images slowly down the d/l to a crawl.

So if we're voting, my vote is yes!

Oh God, not thw whining "...no animated ones..." snivel again!!!

Maybe Garret and SimonKornblith(Computer Programmer don't ya know) should hop in the sack together and utter soothing words of mutual comfort to one another against those horrid beastly little animated GIF's. Boo Hoo!

hey well ya never know... a page full of animated smilies could have the same effect that Japanese cartoon show had on a lot of Japanese kids... it made 'em flip out with some sort of epileptic reaction

I remember the case, but not the name of the show.
Ahhhhhh they don't animate they way they used to Now they've gotta put a label on that too! "Viewing this show may be harmful to your health.......etc.......blah......veiw at your own risk"

Yes, it was Pokémon (Pocket Monsters). Pikachu did some sort of special move that made the screen flash red repeatedly. Sent hundreds of kids to the hospital with epileptic seizures; thankfully, no one was killed.

The funny part came later that evening: several news shows replayed the offending clip, sending even more kids to the hospital!

Those silly Japanese. If they want to hospitalize children, why don't they just allow kids to have guns in school like we do? And they think they're so inovative. Geezzz

This puppy's only 8K, but of course he's far too cool to animate!
