There IS a netscape 6, but there might as well not be becuase it doesn't work!
And I HAVE wondered since I started posting (early June) why there's an entire forum devoted to it...

well, there were some irate members of the fora who insisted that since there was an IE5 forum that MacNN should have a Netscape forum... and that forum (Netscape) is hardly used, just like Netscape itself

heh heh

aside from the fact that that "forum" is to me a depressing reminder of the sorry state Netscape is in Every time I log into the fororum area, I see no reason why anyone should have a problem with it.

wlonh, a Netscape forum *might* be more used if it were about Netscape 4.x. I recommend setting this up if (and only if) you really want hundreds of threads that read:
newbie-Why does Netscape not load [insert any webpage here] properly?
wlonh-Because Netscape does not like to comply with standards. try <sigh> m$ie</sigh>.

maybe then move (tuck away) the Netscape 6 forum to "Advocacy"?

this does not fall under my control, i am not the arbiter of these matters...

whether there is a netscape 6 or 4.x.x forum is not for me to determine, nor is any other similar decision within my power

Misha would be the one to address these issues

We set up a Netscape 6 partially because we expected the proudct to be "new and hot" like IE 5, and also because a fair number of anti-MS folks in our forums really hated the fact that IE 5 had its own forum and Netsacpe didn't.

Obviously we all know which the better browser is, now. Unfortunately removing a forum requires you to move each thread one at a time to another forum, which is tedious and time consuming.

Plus, who knows, maybe Netscape 6 PR2 will be better?
