Hi people!

For a while now, I have suggested on occasion that we get a Linux & Co. forum. Maybe now is the time?

Obviously this forum would cover all types of Unix-like OSes that run on any kind of Mac hardware, including (in no particular order):
-LinuxPPC
-Yellow Dog Linux
-Black Lab Linux
-SuSe Linux
-Debian Linux
-MkLinux
-TurboLinux
-OpenBSD
-NetBSD
-Darwin

In other words, pretty much every alternative OS that runs on Mac hardware. Perhaps we could also include non-Unix, non-Mac OS alternatives, such as BeOS, as well.

Let us know.

not paying much attention to the fora lately?

there is a Linux forum in the offing... has been planned for some time...

MacNN has it in place and ready to go, they are looking for a knowledgeable Linux mod, maybe they have one by now

point is, it is a done deal, though perhaps not as encompassing as you'd like

I really need a Unix forum. Before you make fun of me....is that the same as Linux therefore we already have one?

well it is kinda like this:

Linux is the hotdog, a variant of Unix

the others are sorta like wannabe's, regardless of whether or not they came first in chronology

the forum will doubtless welcome posts regarding all Unix-like OS'es

i think

Well yeah, I just mean that we should be sure to include BSD and other UNIXes in the title of the forum, since they are just as important as Linux.
