If you had been using Netscape Communicator, the forum's pages would always have been loading at great speed.
Internet Explorer 5 is a lot faster than previous versions of Internet Explorer and about the same speed as Netscape Communicator.
The better support for tags in IE 5 is what got me to switch my default browser.

well truth be told, Netscape always crawls regardless, and i know every tweak in the book for both IE and netscape, IE kills netscape every time.
i did not say 'rendering' either, as IE renders faster, no, the connection between my modem and the server for MacNN, that is the deal here, that is the speed that i felt while using EITHER IE4.5.1 or IE5...
nice try Adam

IE 4.5.1 and earlier do not render faster than Netscape browsers. They do, however, reload from cache far faster than Netscape. (This is most evident when doing page-back and page-forward.)

well sorry bud, IE (both 4.5.1 and 5) beats Netscape by any measure, on my Mac
ands yes i know about the 'molasses in january' backbutton in Netscape, and the speedy one in IE, no camparison in caching
could you be more patronizing?

Hey guys,
Could you do me a favour and check out the AppleScripts in my iDisk? The Public folder is named: lycaon. Could use a little feedback. I know this should probably be posted in the AppleScript forum, but I'd like some user instead of scripting feedback. However, scripting suggestions are always welcome.
BTW I'm still pretty new to scripting, so keep that in mind ;¬)
Cheers!
P.S. I know that the readers of THIS forum won't be shy with suggestions! :¬D

Actually, the speed is because of a number of upgrades we have been applying to the servers in order to serve everyone better. Nice to see someone talk about them.
