I noticed that on dealnn.com you have a digital camera deal from Best Stop Digital. Are you aware that this retailer is one of the worst scam outfits there is? I highly suggest that you save your readers numerous headaches by removing the notice of this deal at once. Best Stop Digital has one of the worst reputations for ripping people off. Their typical scam is to offer goods such as digital cameras and camcorders at extremely attractive prices. When you try to order one, they try to get you to buy either substandard equipment packages or extended warrantees, typically lying about what they contain or mean. If you don't want these extras, they will either tell you the item is out of stock or take your order and let you find out for yourself that the item was backordered. If you did buy the extras, you will discover that they were not what the salesman described but cheap junk or meaningless contracts. They charge high restocking fees if you try to return anything.
If you want proof that these guys are the crooks that I make them out to be, just do a Deja-news search on them and you'll see. Also, check them out at the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org) and at the following: http://www.resellerratings.com/comvi...estStopDigital http://www.consumeraffairs.com/catal...op_digital.htm

ok now, Evangelly, you just walked into Macy's and yelled to everyone that Gimbel's is better... NOT cool... and i wish you'd think about extolling the virtues of our competition while in these fora...

jeez.

oh, man.

<sigh>

how inappropriate...

It's not like I'm telling everyone at MacMall that MacWarehouse is better! If you guys gets a fraction of the money for products sold through the deal links, then I'm sorry, 'cuz I didn't know. Otherwise, what's wrong with pointing one Mac fan to another deal site so he/she have more to reference and find better deals? (I'll refrain from pointing out more good deal sites for now...)

I try to avoid posting links to other people's Fora, ever since seeing that guy who was always posting AI Forum links. Seems kind of cheezy. Have not explored the shopping sites much.

And wlonh, cheer up. I think you have done a good job today, and these nice fora have finally convinced me to switch to Team MacNN seti! Too bad, Team MacAddict.

<and that post did belong in seti forum. shows how often I used to go there. thanks anyway, you know why>

Actually since Apple Insider is run by MacNN, I don't think that "extolling the virtues" of the competition. However, it is legitimate to compare the services of one organization to the services of another in a forum hosted by one of the services. I agree that dealmac has some better deals than dealNN. A lot of that is because dealmac has been around longer. However, the dealmac discussion boards SUCK! They're unorganized, unmoderated, and have an astoundingly high ratios of trolls. I love MacNN (it's my home page and I'm a member of Team MacNN). However, it never hurts, in the interest of getting broad coverage of the days events, to read several different sites' coverage. I've found several new Mac oriented sites thanks to the posts here. I even found MacNN as a result of a link at Macintouch (which doesn't offer nearly the news coverage).
Anyway, wlonh, I understand your position, and I have a lot of sympathy for the crap you're having to deal with today. Please try to relax, we really don't want you having a nervous breakdown.
