They're not.
Corrupted browser cache... clear it.
Also, this should have been posted in 'suggestions and comments'.

Em, yes, way off topic, but...

They are broken. On all of my machines, regardless of browser.

Happily the links work regardless

I don't know what's up with the images. I've never had a problem as long as I've surfed here. You don't have one of those cashing proxy servers do you? Do an Option click on Reload (using Explorer that is) and see what happens. Also I'll move this over to Suggestions and Comments.

Guess what? It actually appears to be an IE 5 for OSX bug. I've seen a number of images here and there on the net that are inexplicably broken in IE 5 for OSX, and work fine in OmniWeb, iCab, or other browsers.

They're broken in my IE 5 on OSX, even after reloading, but if I download the image, it looks fine in Preview.app.

I have the same problem with IE5 for OSX and exactly one image on our website at work, as well.

I haven't been able to figure out what the problem with the image is, as it affects apparently random gifs and jpegs (for instance only the 'post reply' and 'post new topic' buttons are broken in the forums -- all of the rest of them are fine).

If I run across the source code for IE on the net this weekend, I'll look through it and see if I can figure out what's going wrong...8-)

It is cache/proxy problems.
In Netscape if you have the problem, do a super reload by holding Apple-Command and clicking in the window to bring up the menu with 'super reload' in it. That requests new data directly from the server.

All images work for me in Netscape 4.76 and IE 5 for OS 9. But the "Post Reply" and "Post New Topic" images are broken in IE 5 for OS X and in IE 5 for Windows (on my PC at work). All other images work fine.

How is it a cache problem? Clearing the cache had no effect.
