Team MacNN needs a LOGO for our upcoming webpage... you can help if you'd like to by creating a logo for Team MacNN for SETI@home... nothing too big... but whatever anyone comes up with will be considered!

and, would any of our 46 members of Team MacNN care to help in the further development of the Team MacNN page? if so, please post here regarding this and any logo's and markhers or myself will contact you...

maybe you could post to your iDisk or your webpage any prospective Team MacNN logo's you have created and then post the link(s) to your work here in this thread?

THANKS!! and if you have not joined Team MacNN for SETI, then see THIS POST and join us!

and here are some examples of some logo banners at the official SETI@home page: http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/logos.html

you will be fully credited if your logo is used! (even though i have not been told so, i am sure that this will be the case, and the only right thing to do!!)

Hey Lon,

Quit promising people stuff before you have been authorized to do so.

Kidding!!!!!

Yes, I will in fact do everything in my power to get whoever designs the new logo for Team MacNN credit on the main MacNN page, as well as high on the list of contributors to the new site.

Speaking of which, if I could see a show of hands from anyone who is really interested in helping but together an amazing Macintosh platform resource for SETI@Home...if we can get enough people to want to work on this, I think we can put together a great Mac site (not just a Team MacNN site) which will help lots of people. But wlonh and I can't do it alone.

Also, a show of hands for a Team MacNN forum...

If you already have a zillion great logos, why do you need a another one?

As hard as this is to believe, I would like to help. That's right. For once I ask you to disregard my stupid member name and allow me to show you what I can do. I am a computer engineer with a well-pursued hobby of graphic design (as you can see my little samples in my posts) and I'd love to try to make a cool new SETI@home logo and give it to you guys. I'd also like to help in any part of the production of the website that I can offer my services with in any way.

I would also like to help in the production of the "amazing Macintosh platform resource" if I only knew what you were talking about. If you mean a new website of some sort, then I may be able to help, because I have some experience in that feild, along with my aforementioned graphic design abilities. Please let me know.

Finally, I would also like to support the idea of a Team MacNN forum, if I only knew more about Team MacNN. So I am raising my hand to that I guess.

My email is limoli78@aol.com

Anything I can help out with, I will. I noticed no replies have been posted for web design apart from Anthony the PC lover... well, my team came 26th in the Australian web challenge - in all Australia... even though it was rigged. Some outback schools that did a womens rights thing got the top places - I wonder what sex the judges were?!?

I'm currently in a science-computers comp too - so i have plenty of experience with web design, and even more with Mac use.

Just gimme a yell if you need or want any help :-)

See, I told you guys you were all wrong about Anthony! He is a fine upstanding young man, who maybe, just maybe, due to a few too many bong hits, has chosen the wrong computing platform. To hell with SexKitten, Anthony is back as my choice for MacNNer of the year!

I also would be willing to lend a hand in anyway I can be of service (although I am usually more of a hinderance than a help). I'm still willing to try!

Hey, If it werent for bongs, I would never have joined MacNN!

I thought I'd make a couple contributions to the SETI@home club, so I slapped a few together. They aren't much, because I did them quick on a PC at my work with Paintbrush. I think they're still pretty cool though.

<center><img src=http://hometown.aol.com/Limoli78/myhomepage/logo2.gif></center>

Oh, Damnit! I just realized right now that I might not have made what you guys were looking for, as I have made a SETI@home banner(s) instead of a Team MacNN logo! I'm sorry if I'm headed in the wrong direction, please let me know. If I am way off, please give me an idea of what you're looking for, and how big you want it. Do you want a logo symbol/form/shape, or just something that says TEAM MACNN in cool letters?

i think if you slap something together with the words Team MacNN in it, that would be much better

"Do you want a logo symbol/form/shape, or just something that says TEAM MACNN in cool letters?"

Yes.

the size could be larger or smaller than what you have done... it just depends on what happens to look good

Anthony, i hafta say that animated .gif of the buggin' out mouse you posted was one of the very best i've seen... i went to that site where you got that, incredible, tons of .gifs

I've been messing around a bit and I came up with a great idea for a logo...that mac smiley guy with a touch of alien. Here's a few samples of my work. Again, I apologize for the crapiness, because the only tool I had to work with is MS Paintbrush. What do you think?

Frankly, i considered you a nice, funny guy...

Now I see that an artist cant sign his work, without being poked fun at.
I dont appreciate your humor when its so personal.
The only reason i placed my name on it was because i perticularly liked that design.
But of course if someone would like the .psd original, i would gladly give it.

um, are you serious? I cant tell if your being sarcastic or not... I only put my name on it cause I didnt want some goober to come along and steal it before i gave it to MacNN.

I really hope your joking because otherwise you sound retarded.

Well Anthony i thought by signing each one and saying "I'll take my name off if requested", you were making fun of the fact that i signed mine... and said i can remove it. (as you did not sign your previous works.) I'm truly sorry if i picked up the wrong idea.

Wow. That's the stuff sine! (I'm not dogging Anthony, but he's right, paintbrush can truly suck)

Here's a couple thoughts...First off, green alien head on a starry background, and use like Techno or Gadget for the font. Use a system font (great idea), just a nicer one.

Also, if anyone would like the .psd of the MacNN logo (which would be nice to throw on there), let me know and I'll track it down for you!

Great work all!

I have found a way to overcome my incompetence! I am contracting the job out. Who says you can't learn anything from the government? I have a friend that's a multi-media designer with Lockheed. Shame to let her talents go to waste. Of course, if she comes up with something good, she gets the kudo's.

For no reason whatsoever, here is this:
<center><img src=http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/Limoli78/myhomepage/logo5.gif></center>

Hey sine, I think that the font you choose is awesome. Y'know why? Because that's the standard Mac font. Whoever looks at it would immediately know it was done with a Mac. That's the one font that PC's can never have. You chose very wisely!

To all: I have edited my MacAlien and smoothed him up a bit in my previous logos. perhaps you will enjoy him better now?

Hey Anthony,
Dude, between your pictures here and the pictures you did of the “glowing mouse”, I have never laughed so much from a Forum.

Thanks for making a slightly boring day at work, a bit more interesting!

<center><img src=http://hometown.aol.com/Limoli78/myhomepage/mac.gif></center>

I'm out of time for this week, but on Monday I think maybe I'll make his mouth move or something, maybe add a background...I dunno for sure. Suggestions?
