I was just reading the c. & bull thread in the Lounge. A link posted there leads to another UBB forum, with an interesting link on the main page for "Currently Browsing the Boards" along with a total. That link leads to a more detailed breakdown page that updates every 30 seconds or so.

Could such a hack be implemented here, just so we can see how many are cruising the Fora at any given time? There are times when it seems that no one else is here. And the AI chat room is perpetually dead. Knowing that other people are present might even cause people to try the DigiChat feature.

Now that it is morning here, this idea no longer seems like such a good one to me. We apparently have many quiet lurkers who eventually start posting. This hack would "expose" them early on and perhaps drive them away. It strips away the more complete privacy that they now enjoy.

I was going to delete my suggestion if no one had replied. Oh, well.

I wouldn't take the time to check in...

Unless there were a nag screen, in which case I'd start a thread to remove it.

Any way ya look at it, there's no way to win.

And does it scare anyone else that there's a log somewhere on someone else's computer that lists EVERY WEBSITE WE'VE EVER GONE TO? What ever happened to privacy? I'm scared now.
