Has anyone else noted a severe lack of macintosh pc-to-phone services? (or even pc to pc... what ever happened to cooltalk?)
Anyway, most of the major internet-to-phone services (deltathree, net2phone, phonefree, go2call, hottelephone) don't support macs. This is really sad, and I don't want to pay for a service I can only use on someone else's computer. I would be happy to pay a company for their service if they had a stable mac client.
So, my suggestion/advice is, can we do something about this. A few of the companies (possibly only 1) , specifically FreePhone.com (I think) say on their web site that they actually will consider a mac version. I think these companies need to know that there is a demand. We need to hold some sort of poll or something to guage demand. Perhaps embark on a letter or petition writing campaign (not SPAM!) to show companies that mac users are really interested, willing to pay reasonable rates, and would be worthwhile to support...
Can anyone make any suggestions? How could this be done? Can MacNN help?
Thanks,
Markian
