How can I meet him at MacWorld and how do you talk to him?

Quite simply, you don't. He's a CEO, not a celebrity. He's got two billion dollar companies to run... no time to socialize with a few fans of his company's products.

Or, become an esteemed member of the press.

It is funny even if he is a CEO I have been corresponding with him since June. All I want to know from people who know him is how do you talk to him, how do you convince him to hire you? Does he have a weakness I can take advantage of?

Tell him to screw motorola, and go with the faster IBM G3s.

In a nice way.

heh. I'm actually far more interested in Jobs' backup plans. what if motorola decides to belly-up on the PPC? It could happen. I don't see Jobs as the kind of guy who puts all his eggs in one basket if he can help it... so what's the secret.

As to Monique's question, well, I would say that if the _old steve jobs had a weakness, it would have been being told how wonderful he was. I'm not sure the apple-revival steve jobs is the same though.

Also, I've heard it's a good idea not to discuss his family with him. He considers it his business, and not in the public eye.

Apart from that... hm... well, flattery may not get you everywhere, but i'd say if you've done youre research, some mild admiration for the man who founded Apple, Next, and Pixar couldn't go awry.

I know bits and pieces of Jobs lore. I dunno if I can help more. I'm also curious ... You're applying for a job? did he email you first? Where in the world did you find his email address otherwise. What do you do, if you're looking for a job at apple, etc...

of course, probably questions of this nature don't belong on a message board, so if you want to take it offline (Monique), email me at markianSPAMREMOVE@cs.ualberta.ca, removing the obvious part in caps, and I'll convince you I'm not a crazy person before you have to talk to me.

Thank you guys for the good ideas. You would really think he would go for anything that has IBM attached to it.
