Hello! I haven't posted a topic for a while!
Anyway, I was wondering whether or not it would be cool to merge the iBook and PowerBook forums. The hardware is extremely similar (for now at least), and more people could respond to a question.
So, what do you guys think? I think it would be an awesome idea, but that's just me - what do you guys and gals think?

I move for this thread to be moved to Suggestions and Comments.
Any second?

I vote no.
The two machine are different enough to have different problems and issues.

I second the move to Suggestions and Comments.
Or at least one of the two aforementioned forums.
I don't know a thing about either product because I have no need for either.
So, I couldn't say whether it was a good idea or not.

Don
Well, we should have one forum for laptops in general because most of the topics covered by the powerbook forum are of general concern, like how to clean your laptop or how to save battery time and so on.
So if we really want to be straight on that one, we should have 3 forum! However, if we want to simplify things and merge the two forums, it is an idea to consider. I personally like the idea but I have to admit Don has a point here.
Merry Xmas again, I'm off NOW.

We have a second. All in favor, don't post here, because that would be contradictory.

I vote to postpone judgement if any should be made until the expo where the Powerbook might change enough to cause a seperation of the consiladated forums should they be consolidated.
Then we should have a "manual recount" of the votes as there might be some confusion. Some may have wanted to vote for 'moving the thread' instead of 'consolidating the forums', this is of course a typical butterfly thread.

I propose to strap buttered toast to the back of a cat; the two will hover, spinning inches above the ground. With a giant buttered cat array, a high-speed monorail could easily link New York with Chicago. -someone else

I vote no...
As it is I can go to the PowerBook, see a topic that doesn't have "PowerBook problem" in the title or whatever and know they are talking about a flavour of PowerBook...
Same with iBook.
Now it gets more confusing when there are different revisions, but thats not all that hard to discern once you are in the thread and the differences are really minimal when it comes to problem solving.
Now if they were to be joined and someone posted with their problem, not stating what kind of 'book they had, then a forum reader won't know what comp the person is on, and therefore may just skip over it, cause they don't know if they can help.
Its like the whole Cube/Tower thing... should they be seperate forums?
So yeah...

I vote no too. The two audiences are probably different enough to make the two fora a good idea.
