this week end i made my first DVD and it works very well, I don't have anything special to do it, except a good camera, a good macintosh and a good CD burner (not DVD burner)
After my montage, i compressed the stuff, with all the stuff, Audio_TS and Video_TS I burned my CD and it works on my powermac G3 with DVD-ROM an Athlon 500 with DVD-ROM and Home DVD player, but not on computer like imac DV with simple CD-ROM, Why… is there anything special required about the speed, UDF format or is there something else

define "not work"...
sounds like you've made yourself a VCD, else it wouldn't work on the independent DVD player...in that case, you'll need a VCD player for your Mac too (hate to admit, but PCs have wider built-in support to handle multimedia stuff...doesn't mean they do it better, but at least most of it is built-in).
QT4 will decompress the VCD video file if you know which one to open, which is pretty easy to figure out. Otherwise, get Simple VCD, look for it at http://www.versiontracker.com
