I’ve noticed that Transmeta-based servers are coming out that will sport 12 processors in a box measuring 3.5 inches high. (http://news.cnet.com/news/0-1003-200-5044139.html?tag=mn_hd). Why doesn’t Apple get Transmeta to create a Mac version of its code morphing software and build multi-Crusoe processor Apple computers?

Well, to put it bluntly, Crusoes are slow.
Maybe not when there are 12 of them, but still... Even a G3 will kick a Crusoes ass.
I think Apple will stay with real PowerPC's for the moment.

Not to mention how much of a pain it would be having 12 procs... Its just such a hassle...

What about the PowerPC's that IBM uses in its mainframe RS/6000 computers?
I've read news-bits about 'Northstar' and 10GHz chips from IBM.
Wouldn't it be easier to port OSX to these computers?
IBM doesn't seem to have any problems making chips and Apple
could market it's user-friendly, state-of-the-art UNIX environment to an already existing hardware infrastructure in the business community.
It 'sounds' marketable to me.

Well, personally I think Power4's would friggin' rule as the high-end Apple processor - in the Towers only.
That'd be awesome... but cost... etc...
