Ok, perhaps I'm short on patience, and I hate to be imperialistic, but lets recommend that folks try and limit their sig file to 2 or 3 lines, tops.

For instance, Albert Wu's is about 5-6 lines long.

It wastes screen space, esp in those who post frequently, and results in more scrolling.

I hate scrolling.

2¢.

Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Yonkers can have better TV reception.

Heh, mine's only two words!

But really, long sigs don't bother me. I say "Who cares?"

mine isn't much longer than mac freak's

i think that most all sigs people have are fine. as long as noone starts using enormous sigs for the purpose of inconveniencing us and as long as nobody puts any large images in their sig, it's cool with me.

gregg: good point! but I don't mind it (many lines) so much when it's original content. I hate having so much space wasted by repetition.

I rarely include my signature. I don't even remember how long it is. Let's see....

oh, come on now. Exaggeration is a common way of pointing out things, and so is sarcasm. I was using both. I don't even usually bother with a sig file at all.

Most of the forum users sigs are fine. I guess it's mainly Albert Wu's6 lines that bug me--and I worry, since he posts so often, that others will think it's ok, new users, and do the same thing.

I rarely if ever enable my sig file, save perhaps on cold, windy, miserable days such as this one.

The only thing that I find annoying with users sigs is the ability to add images to it... I used to frequent the ubb at mustangworld.com and a lot of the users have 468x60 banners as thier signature...

I would take 10 lines of text over banners any day...

oh darn it... it is now a largeish image file.

I think he's now trying to be annoying, which makes it even more annoying...

andi, al's again modified it slightly. now it is explicit that his purpose is to annoy you. i guess all we can do is hope that he doesn't start a trend
common al, we know you read this thread. the least you could do would be to contribute a post like:
