CaseCom,

The noted thread was immersed in two things: 1)Topical, helpful information; 2)Ca$h's obtuse comments. I like others were carefully examining the thread for opportunities to upgrade our iMacs. I can understand transferring the thread to the Mac Modification forum; however, why close the thread entirely? Why should other members of the MacNN fora be punished for the deliquency of a single member? Is it the policy of moderators to outweigh the rants of the one over the needs of the many? Please alert Misha to the thread in question as well as this one.

Thank you.

Heh, I just came straight here from that exact thread. I too was hoping to get more info from tobster about the drive he had found.

Why not just delete ca$h's posts there or warning him to knock it off instead of closing a thread that obviously lots of people were still interested in?

Ok posters time to let them have it. MacNN Staff It's our duty to let MacNN know we hate intelliTXT!

Bockie and keyser,

I'm sorry you feel that way. It was an interesting topic (that was why I let the bickering go on as long as I did), but to my eye the useful info was tapped out and it was all over but the screaming. I don't think deleting posts would have done any good in this case; nor would transferring the thread.

I have alerted Misha to your complaint and would be happy to take direction from him ... after all I admit I am a newbie at this moderating thing

Thanks for your comments.

CaseCom was right in his judgement to close that thread. It had degenerated into slander (primarily from Cash) with no, new discussion having taken place for days.

Had Cash been able to keep a handle on his emotions (obviously DVD in a first-generation iMac triggered some horrible childhood memory; or at least one would be lead to believe) the thread would have remained open, so point the finger at Cash, not CaseCom.

Sometimes its worth it for us to go in and edit individual posts and sometimes it's not. This time it wasn't.

CaseCom, Misha,

Thank you for your replies. I am not a moderator, so perhaps I am over-sensive. I never meant to implicate any moderator of any wrong doings; I only wished to know why the thread was closed. Yes, Ca$h is a nuisance, but I skip over whatever he writes. I'm sorry, also; next time I won't be so harsh with my comments. Thanks!
