"This hack alters what happens to threads after they've been moved. When a thread is moved without the original being deleted, the original will be closed and the link to it redirected to the thread's new location. Also, the "closed" icon will be replaced with a "moved" icon on the thread. If the thread is found via a search, a link inside the thread allows the user to get to the thread's new location. If the thread is deleted in its new location, the original will stop linking to it, and will instead point to the closed thread. When a thread is moved to a private forum, all redirection is ignored, but the "moved" icon will still appear. The only drawback to this is that in order to delete the original thread, you will have to either look it up via a search, or delete it via the control panel."
