Or is it just me? The last couple of times I've tried to search for something I've been told that there are no results at all. So I did an obvious search for which there were several results. There are at least two threads discussing Hawaii on the first page in the Lounge right now:

Even searching specifically in the Lounge turned up zero results.

Ideas?

That's funny.

A search *will* turn up this thread, now, but not the lounge ones.

Odd.

I had to use Google to find the Photo Critique thread, as nothing I searched for here would bring it up.

The post search index needs rebuilding from scratch. Unfortunately, the rebuild process requires a browser window to remain open for a few days. After several false starts, I've opened that rebuild window on my Sawtooth server in the next room. It can happily chug away undisturbed for as many days as it takes.

Take that, vB.

So, should I blame this for the server being a complete dickface today?

Maybe. I paused the index rebuild about an hour ago because of people getting server errors. But the errors haven't completely gone away, so it's not all my fault.

The search index is about halfway rebuilt. To be continued later today.

Sorry, I've already sent the mob with pitchforks to your cube.

Just lie and send them to gh's or something.

I'm told this is taken care of. The server errors, that is. Time to test our luck, and restart the search indexing.

Search is fixed. Post index rebuilt, at 2.1 GB. Maybe later I'll try reducing the minimum word length to 3 characters, and see how big the index goes.

Note: certain terms are excepted from the 4-letter requirement, like numbers and OS X. Searches including those terms should succeed anyway.
