Dynamic loading of signature images

Whenever this forum is upgraded, in addition to a mobile optimized version, how about dynamically loading the signature and other thread pics after the rest of the page is loaded so that page loads aren't blocked by these images?

I think that's up to the browser. My browser "Firefox" renders the page as the HTML comes in, and adds the images as they come in too.

I'm talking about Javascript dynamic/lazy loading triggered once the DOM has been loaded:

YUI 3: ImageLoader

The Huffingtonpost and Facebook seem to do this... It's not hard to implement something like this, including this very module.

What do you mean? If the image URL is unresponsive you are going to get latency no matter how it is loaded.
