I wasn't particularly polarised one way or the other as far as the forum software goes either, but having vB back is like a familiar old friend and I too appreciate all the work the mods put into this place.
Thanks guys!

Ahead of the curve and sadly ignored. Come on, it's not like you guys are busy or anything.

I was thinking Dakar was banned from News under Huddler, but wasn't certain.
Ban done.

Praise Allah, I can now see all the way back to when the forums came back online on the first page.

Really wish the ability to mark everything as read weren't on a per-forum basis. I want to mark all forums as read... With the way the forums were a year ago it was ideal, I'd go to a forum and it'd automatically be marked as read the next time I went into, say "Mac Desktops". This is a couple steps back in my eyes...

No, because it didn't mark things "read" -- it actually marked things "unchanged since last visit".
There was no way to see whether something had actually been READ at all.

Same difference. Opening the subforum should mark all forums as read (obviously it doesn't know if I read them but that's not the point). Other wise it's a pain to sift through every forum looking for new posts or I have to go to every forum and click the wrench icon, then select the "Mark This forum ReadMark This Forum Read".

Didn't think to look there...I'll leave a little something in the tip jar on my way out.

Apologies if this has already been discussed, but would it be possible to have a "New Posts Minus the Mac/Tech News forums" button ?

Put NewsPoster on ignore? (Edit: this won't work, apparently?)
I'm reluctant to do so, though, because that's actually where a lot of the interesting discussion happens. It only ever happens in the Lounge or the other forums if somebody posts a link there, and then it's stupidly redundant, because it's already being discussed in the Tech News forum.
All you get on the remaining forums are the constant complaints how dead they are.

Banning is too ... drastic.
Guess that I'll just put up with the spam.

Moderators, now's the time to strike.
Unban his old nick but refuse to kill the newsposter for that account.
