I want to run Final Cut Pro 2 on my 600mhz iBook.

At the moment it has only 128 megs of ram, which leaves me with the dilema of what to choose for the necessary upgrade.

I would of course like to ram it to the max with a 512 stick, but the family budget .....well, I can't afford it at the moment.

Best prices that I've seen in Holland are US$40 for 128 megs, US$75 for 256 megs and about US$200 for the 512.

My question, would Final Cut Pro run reasonably well if I bought an extra 128 meg to tie me over till I can afford the 512 stick?

Or would Final Cut Pro run to anywhere near full potential if I invested in the more affordable extra 256 stick?

final cut pro won't run near potential until you invest in a tibook or powermac.

barring that, get as much RAM as you can afford. If the 512 is too much, get less.

In OS 9, the additional 128 might be fine for the interim, but it will be worthless in OS X. You'll need at least an additional 256.
