i am one person who wants to edit quicktime movies, and not movies made from a digital camera in the imovie, but i can't choose quicktime files. why?? is not imovie compatible with all moviefiles?? and if not, is there any good movie edititng program for the quicktime movies??

iMovie only works with DV streams.

Convert your Quicktime files to a DV stream first. You can do this by opening your mov in QTPro and saving as a DV Stream or you can go here (Convert to DV Stream ) and grabbing the Applescript that does it (caution: overwrites original file).

Applescript description: This droplet will convert movie files to DV format which can then be imported into iMovie. The original file will be replaced by the newly created file.
