I am having problems with the music that I am adding to my movie. I am not sure how to fix and is why I came here for questions. Could it be a cut back with the iBook? or is there a certain way to fix it in the preferences?

The easiest way that I can think of is to convert the mp3 into an uncompressed format (such as an AIFF) using Quicktime Pro to export it. (FCP has always given me problems with mp3 so I always convert them before importing them) That should solve all your problems. FCP also comes with PeakDV which will be able to do the same but it is a little more complicated of an app.but very powerful. Hope this helps.

Ok. I'll give that a try. But I am not sure if you get the exact same problems I do. The sound of the music will pause after like every second, and can become very annoying.

Final Cut Pro (to my knowledge) does not support the mp3 audio format (at least this was certainly the case with v 1.2.5, and may still be with v 3). Using unconverted mp3s in an FCP project will cause the audio problems you're describing.
You can use QT Pro to convert them; you can also use iTunes. Why iTunes? Because it's FREE!

You can use either a .wav or an .aiff (also sometimes shown as .aif).
I'm going to assume you're using OSX and iTunes 3. Procedure for OS9 and/or earlier versions of iTunes are only slightly different.
In iTunes , first add the mp3 to your library (File>Add to Library). Then, in the Preferences pane (iTunes>Preferences), click on the "Importing" tab. Change the dropdown menu to "Import using AIFF encoder." Click OK. Next, single-click your mp3 file in the Library window (so that it's highlighted). Click Advanced>Convert Selection to AIFF and you're done. It'll probably save it to your iTunes directory. You can then import from there to FCP.
Good luck!
