QT 6 won't play movies. Help

I have QT 6 installed with the Pro Key. I also purchased the additional software package for QT 6 for the additional $19.95.
I still get a dialog message sometimes saying"couldn't open the file "whatever.mpg" becasue a software component needed by the movie could not be found". Whatelse do I need to play movies in QT 6? Any help appreciated.
Running on a PowerBook Titanium 400mhz with OS 10.1.5.
